Pardes Jerusalem

Is a great podcast. So is Women in Torah. I've learned a lot from both of them.
I've had The Artist listening as well, especially when she is playing computer games. Why waste the airspace?

Well Internet Woes and Other Thoughts

May be over for a time. Why it couldn't have been at a better time, such as when I really needed to work to get the info in on time is beyond me. But I cleared the work, late, and won't have more till
after Shabbat.

But in order to try and do my work I downloaded no less than THREE new browsers in the hopes that one of them would allow me to work. The strangest of them is called "offbyone" . Very unusual set up, but it looks interesting. I now have flock which also seems good, but I'm not thrilled with Maxthon....so I will probably discard that one.

However, it wasn't a problem with the browser; it was my Internet provider, and here we benefited from my husbands procrastination. We still have a 012 account! So finally after tons of frustration on my part and I expect on the part of my boss, I switched back to 012 and viola! Success. Not perfect, but it allowed me to work. It of course could all be coincidental, but talk about Hashgacha pratis....

I'm calling and annoying my sons daily. I am missing them terribly. I am glad they are both safe and bored. I pray their whole term of service is both boring and safe. I think that is every moms wish for her army son or daughter. Well, any rational mom. The reason we are at war is because there are moms who aren't proud their children serve and have served, but relish the blood on their sons and daughters hands and find glory in the deaths of their children.

Such I shall never understand.

so what e-mail program

do you use and why? I've switched to Thunderbird because I was very disappointed with my old program. And I got curious as to what everyone else was using and why?

I know, pathetic blogging lately. I don't want to deal with the hard stuff right now. Too much in real life, why take on the world?

Kni(tit)ed Wonders

What a great, slightly zany idea. For those who have had breast cancer, and lost a breast to cancer, or for the loved ones of the same.

I like her idea of writing on the stones....

Now Reading

Catch-22
And regretting that this isn't my second time around.
I got it this morning, am half-way through and plan on finishing it tonight so I can present it to my son, the Wit on Shabbat or Rosh Hashanah, which ever.

Now why didn't someone tell me to read this years ago?

Random Bits and Pieces

1. I bought an organizer. To organize myself. (duh). Being among those who sort of floats from one thing to another and remembers things about two minutes before they happen I thought this a good idea. As the Artist has not fallen too far from the tree, I plan to incoporate her homework due and tests dates in the book as well. This is because despite having asked her
a)every day when she gets home from school
b)every evening before dinner
c)every night before bedtime

If she has any homework to do for the next day, and having each time last night received a

NO

she had to look up and define a list of spelling words this morning.
Not only that but she misplaced her English notebook.

2) via an e-mail: go to google, enter failure, press "feeling lucky" and have a laugh...oh come on, you know who it will be and it is a joke, regardless of who you voted for.

3)I went into town with a friend for a breakfast date. The Monkey, who is home sick (her father was with her!) called half-way through to say "I miss you! When are you coming home?"

4)According to Tickle my karoke song is "We Got the Beat" by Go-Go's. I suggest that I only be asked to sing if one wnats to torture another.

5)Todays word of the day, according to Wordsmith is FUSCOUS which means dusky or of a brownish-grey color. Now come up with ten sentences using fuscous. Try them out on your friends. Annoy people, it is fun!

I think I need more coffee.
