Goodbye Caesar

The time has come to let our dog Caesar return to the earth. He is too ill to continue on. He isn't eating, he isn't drinking and he is in pain. At 2pm our time, about 45 minutes from this posting, the Veternarian will come.

My younger son, the Agent, was able to say goodbye. My older son, we had hoped he could hold out long enough for him to say goodbye as well, but there isn't time left.

We should have made the decision sooner. We waited too long...But I really didn't know. It is so hard to know the right time to let a pet go.

My condolences. I had to do that with my 16YO cat earlier this year, and wonder when it will be time for my 15YO dog. It's never easy.

Thanks Joe,

I've been crying on and off all day. They are so much a part of the family...I'm sorry about your cat, and I hope your dog lives on a good number of years yet...what kind of dog is he?

The best kind.....Heinz 57. What about Ceasar?

BTW... that sounds like one hell of a cat you've got there. I'll be getting new kitties soon.

Caesar was a Basset Hound...
I had a Heinz 57 growing up...
Kitties are cute...but oh! So much trouble. We do need to find homes for two of them...Want an Israeli cat?

Well, I live in New Mexico, so getting them here might be a problem.

BTW, I don't know what :-P means. I hope my teasing didn't offend.

I cried when I read your post.

It's tough saying goodbye to an old friend.

Thanks Julia

I keep crying. I keep thinking he is about. I feel guilty, because there were things that fit the "if only I had known" but I didn't...but I couldn't have hoped to extend his life too much longer. Still, it is so hard to believe he isn't with us anymore....

I am so sorry, Rachel.

At least he isn't in pain any more, but I know it is so hard.

My condolences to you and your family.
