My Mom Taught Me Differently

But apparently, if you sock your brother, you get the cookies. How else to explain the banning of Jews from our holiest site, when it was the Jews who were the vicitms of the attack?

As Fundamentaly Freund concludes on his blog:

The time has come for Israel to take back the Temple Mount, once and for all, and to reassert its control over the area. That is the only way to ensure that Jews, as well as others, are free to visit the site and worship there freely.

It is time we stopped bowing to the world in the hopes that they will toss us a treat. This is our land; lets treat her with the love she deserves: guard her, and honor her, for she is a gift of love to us, from G-d.

I DISagree wholeheartedly. It is NOT the time for us to return to Har Habayit. We lost the second temple(just as we lost the first) for a reason, and the time has not yet come for us to reclaim it.

Why, you ask? Because we are not doing everything we could do be good Jews. I'm not saying anyone is a bad Jew, just that you could be better. Think of all the small Mitzvot that go ignored or forgotten; there are probably more than you realize. Then there are still those among us that believe we have to kill all the Arabs. This is wrong, and so long as there are still Jews who believe this, we don't deserve Har Habayit.

However, before we go blaming other people for our problems, we have to take a look at ourselves. Everyone one of us can improve in some way, and before you attempt to improve someone else you have to better yourself. I made a couple posts on this blog telling people off for cursing for this very reason. I stopped cursing, now I can tell others to stop, too.

I hope you've learned something from this, now it's time for me to go.

I wouldn't worry overly much about world opinion. It took me more than 45 minutes to find a blog about "Israeli Life" that wasn't a diatribe against Jews and Israel, with a few good kicks at us Americans thrown in as well. I have just been re-reading some books on the Israeli Armed Forces I bought in the 1980's, and got curious to see what some people living there had to say today. There sure are a lot of people that hate Israelis, judging by the blogs, but they hate Americans too and I'm not losing any sleep over it. I only saw the Israelis in action in Lebanon in 1982-83, when I was a Marine Corps Captain. Never understood why we weren't helping them wipe out the PLO instead of helping the scum escape, but orders were orders. Ours not to reason why...
Look at it this way, if so many people already hate you, you don't have to worry that what you do will make them mad.

Good luck.

Thanks Frank,

And needless to say I agree with you. Quite honestly, sometimes I think the only thing that would make most of the world like us is our extinction. Then we would get praised.
